Scott Hubener, LCMHC Asheville Counseling

For the last five years I have worked as a licensed therapist after spending the previous several years working in various helping roles in primarily community-based settings. In the way, way back I worked as a photo instructor at a couple colleges, waited tables working through college, freelanced as a photojournalist and even photographed weddings! The journey to my current occupation has had many challenging, rewarding and unforeseen turns.

I thrive off of learning and seek to engage my sense of curiosity as much as possible, which has led me to study art, music and follow others passions such as travel. I love music from punk and metal, to reggae, electronic, hip hop, dance, soul, jazz and most genres in between. I even played drums in some hardcore and post-punk bands back in the day.

Along the way, I've raised a daughter, which while endlessly challenging, is also the most rewarding and proud accomplishment of mine. My journey started in Florida, where I was born and remained until after college. I have been living in Asheville for over 20 years and am privileged to continue to call my it home. I am licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina and available for telehealth appointments.
